As the year comes to a close, and we enter the wonderful holiday season full of family, friends, travel, parties and so much more to keep us busy, we should take a moment to reflect on all we have to be thankful for during this season of giving. I hope each and every one of you has a terrific holiday season planned.
For the Union, 2014 has certainly had its share of ups and downs and challenges. But now is the time to look to the future. With 2015 quickly approaching, we must steel ourselves for the battles ahead on the negotiations front. As union members, we need to charge forward in solidarity to maintain our benefits and increase staffing levels to provide services and strengthen our great city.
If you’re looking for another New Year’s resolution, a great place to start is at AFSCME 3090! If you have never been to one of our membership meetings, or it has been a while, come on out. We would love to see new faces and hear new voices.
Happy holidays to all and have a safe and festive New Year!
