Negotiated Bonuses Finally Show Up in Your Paychecks
Hello Mighty3090!
I hope this message finds you happy and healthy.
I am happy to report that we are FINALLY seeing the negotiated bonuses and retroactive pay hit our checks. I’d like to explain a bit about what we have received and what we will be receiving. Prior to June 16, 2024, we were under PAYSR payroll system. On June 16, 2024 we transitioned into WORKDAY. The paper check we received a few weeks ago was for the 3% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) we were to receive on March 24, 2024. Instead, we received it one pay period later.
The paper check was 3% retroactive pay from March 24, 2024 to April 7,2024. If your department was to receive a bonus, all “codes” have been created in Workday. Per the CAO’s office, it is up to each department to determine who is to receive it, and to assign them the code. Once you see the code change in your Workday app, you should receive the pay in the following paycheck. Once the pay is received, along with that you will receive retroactive pay back to June 16, 2024. (Transition day) Any retroactive pay between March 24,2024 – June 15, 2024 will come at a later time, most likely in the form of a paper check since we are no longer using PAYSR.
I am also happy to announce that AFSCME District Council 36 is now out of Administratorship. This means we have a new Executive Board, with a new Executive Director, Matt Maldonado. Being out of administratorship means the council can now hire additional business representatives, Organizers, and fill other necessary vacancies.
