Here’s To Celebrating Our Victories

Dear Mighty 3090,

As summer comes to a close, I hope you were able to spend quality time with your loved ones while staying cool. The change of season has made me realize that I have now been your President for the last 21 months, and I can honestly say it has been an honor to serve you.

During my tenure, we have been able to secure an historic multi-year contract totaling increases of 22% for each member. We negotiated 100% sick payout, doubled the paid Parental leave, secured substantial wage increases for our Part-Time members, and added increases in uniform allowance and night differential pay.

Just as important as the negotiated increases are the friendships and business relationships I’ve built since being elected. It’s been wonderful to create art with you at our Paint and Sip event in February, walk with you at the Martin Luther King Jr. parade, and stand with you as City Hall took note of our contributions.

I enjoy visiting your worksites, meeting each of you on a personal level, and witnessing firsthand what you do every day to keep this city running.

I am absolutely amazed at the dedication and devotion to your job and how seriously you take your professional responsibilities. Without you, Los Angeles wouldn’t be the global leader it is today—and I won’t let the city forget it.

I vow to each of you to continue to fight for you to ensure your working lives continue to improve.
