A Message From Your President
Hello, Mighty3090 !!!
Spring has sprung. As most of you know by now, we met our financial obligation for our tentative agreement as it relates to the unpaid holidays (furloughs). It was a huge accomplishment, and to those that took voluntary furloughs and transferred into proprietary departments, thank you. Your efforts, and the one unpaid day off taken put us in a position where no further unpaid days off would be necessary this fiscal year. The Coalition has provided the city several ideas on how to generate more funds so we can be in a better financial situation next fiscal year.
I realize there are still several 3090 members in various departments that still have not been paid everything owed from our contract. I am in routine contact with Human Resources, timekeeping units to get to the bottom of the problem. The Workday excuse is tired and old ! We currently have an open group grievance for those departments and we are asking for 10% interest on all monies owed. Arbitration is to begin in the coming weeks. I reached out to the CAO’s office for their assistance. If I dont receive more concrete information within a few days, I will contact the City Council members that assisted us during our negotiations. I promise you, I WILL see to it that everyone receives every penny owed.
