2025 Women’s Conference: Union Women, Stronger Together
To celebrate Women’s History Month, Local 3090 leaders and staff attended the 2025 Women’s Conference Mar. 29-30 at the downtown Western Bonaventure Hotel. The event was co-hosted by the California Labor Federation and the State Building Trades Council. Representing Mighty 3090 were Vice President Adda Murillo, Recording Secretary Cheryl Evans, Central Regional Coordinator Shavan Brown, Valley Regional Coordinator Stephanie Smith and Western Regional Coordinator Maria Elena Hoyos.
This empowering two-day conference united women from all fields to celebrate union sisterhood and the vital role of women in the labor movement. Attendees heard from union leaders, California legislators, and fellow labor-sisters and participated and/or attended workshops, panels, and plenary sessions. The event offered professional development, networking, and updates on legislative and industry trends impacting California’s labor and construction sectors. Whether seasoned or just starting out, attendees gained tools to lead, organize, and create lasting change. The conference honored the legacy of women in labor—fighting for fairness, equality, and workers’ rights—and strengthened our collective voice moving forward.

By attending the following workshops over the two-day conference, we gained valuable insights and practical tools that we can apply to strengthen and enhance our Local.

This event, and others like it, serve as an opportunity to network with our fellow labor brothers and sisters in the union. We share a common goal: support our members by protecting their rights, improve working conditions and bargain for health/other benefits, wages and opportunities for growth. Discussing, sharing and learning ways to accomplish these goals is the mission. We appreciated the opportunity to represent Local 3090. Let’s GO!
