Payment for Excess Sick and Personal Leave Delayed to Feb. 5
Dear Mighty 3090 Members:
Earlier today (Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2025), I received the following information from the CAO’s office relating to payout date for unused “PL” time, and accumulated excess sick time. The payouts are delayed until February 5, 2025. It is my goal to keep everyone updated with the most up-to-date information as we receive it. If you have any questions or complaints, call the CAO’s office at (213) 978-7676.
In Unity, and solidarity,

Greetings,
Pursuant to applicable provisions of memoranda of understanding and the Los Angeles Administrative Code, employees who have accumulated (1) sick time in excess of the maximum total hours allowed (in the current and accumulated banks) and/or (2) unused personal leave time as of January 1st of each year are entitled to compensation for said time.
In the calendar year 2025, payment for excess sick and personal leave time is scheduled for January 22nd.
The pay period containing January 1, 2025, closes on January 11th, and employees’ time will not be completely processed until on or about January 15th. This schedule leaves inadequate time to properly process excess banked time as of January 1st, thereby necessitating a delay in paying employees for their excess sick and personal leave time by one pay period.
Therefore, excess sick and personal leave time will be paid to employees on February 5, 2025.
Thank you.
