3090 Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.’s 95th Birthday in the Kingdom Day Parade
On January 15th, attendees in the Kingdom Day parade celebrated what would have been Martin Luther King Jr.’s 95th birthday by making their way from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard down Crenshaw Boulevard, culminating in community festivities in Leimert Park. L.A. County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, California Attorney General Rob Bonta, and numerous members of 3090 took part in the 39th annual parade, which featured marching bands, service groups, and hundreds of others. According to ABC7, which provided live coverage of the parade, Mayor Karen Bass addressed the crowd at one point, saying “This is an opportunity not just to celebrate, but to recommit to Dr. King’s vision — a day to work, and think about what’s ahead of us.”
